How Viagra Works

The erection depends on the amount of blood that flows into the penis. In order to increase the amount of blood that flows inside the penis there can be a few things that can be done. Like increasing the production of nitric oxide in the penis or increasing the amount of cyclic guanoosine monophospahte produced in the penis in response to the nitric oxide or just eliminating the PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME in the penis so that the cyclic guanoosine monophospahte builds up instead of getting decomposed by the PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME 5.
What Viagra does is use the third process and it eliminates the PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME 5. The PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME tends to decompose the cyclic guanoosine monophospahte. So cyclic guanoosine monophospahte builds up in the penis. It has a much larger effect on the artery walls. The greater the amount of cyclic guanoosine monophospahte the greater the blood flow. And with the increase of the blood flow increases the degree of the erection.
In the human body there are at least 11 different kinds of PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME that is produced and among these only one, phospho diesterase enzyme 5, is found primarily in the penis. Once this fact was discovered by the scientists, the creation of Viagra was relatively easier. All that Pfizer required to do was to find a chemical that would selectively block PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME 5 and that would do the trick. With the PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME 5 blocked, cyclic guanoosine monophospahte could build up in the penis and increase the blood flow there without affecting other parts of the body.
PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME 5 is an enzyme that is specially folded protein and it can speed up a chemical reaction. How Viagra works is a simple story. A man takes a Viagra pill. Then what happens is that the blood carrying the sildenafil citrate flows throughout the body. . Then the sildenafil citrate attaches to the PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME 5 enzyme in his penis and disables most of it. When the man becomes sexually aroused after that, the brain sends the normal message to the NANC cells in his penis, which produce nitric oxide as usual. The nitric oxide creates cyclic guanoosine monophospahte and this starts relaxing the arteries in his penis. Since the PHOSPHO DIESTERASE ENZYME 5 has been disabled, the cyclic guanoosine monophospahte in the penis does not break down. Instead, it builds up and lets the arteries in the penis fully dilate. The man’s penis inflates with blood, and he gets a full erection.
Another advantage of Viagra over an injection of phentolamine is that Viagra only causes an erection once the man has been sexually aroused. Phentolamine, by contrast, causes an immediate and uncontrolled erection.
Viagra only works once the man is sexually aroused. So it is best to take it one hour before having sex. Sometimes it has some adverse effects on particular people using the drugs and it affects the various systems of the body other than the penis.
