During clinical trials Viagra was tested on 3700 patients aging from nineteen to eighty seven and based on these results the various side effects of Viagra were decided upon. The adverse effects were generally so transitory and mild in nature that it appeared to be very little harmful to a human being.
In all the designs of the trials the adverse events that were reported by the patients taking VIAGRA were commonly similar. The occurrence of some adverse events amplified with dose. The nature of the adverse events in flexible-dose studies was similar to that for fixed-dose studies.
There were several reactions to be seen among 2% of the patients who were given Viagra whether at a fixed dosage or a flexible dosage and taking all the cases into account these reactions can be named accordingly. These were tested under controlled clinical trials. However, a causal relationship to Viagra is quite uncertain. Among many there is face edema and accidental injury. In the cardio vascular system Viagra causes such problems as angina pectoris, AV block and cardiomyopathy.
Viagra seems to affect the digestive system as well and in the following ways: vomiting, glossitis, colitis, dysphagia, gastritis, gastroenteritis, esophagitis, stomatitis, dry mouth, liver function tests abnormal, rectal hemorrhage, gingivitis. Anemia and leukopenia can also be two of the side effects of taking Viagra pills.
Viagra causes trouble in the nervous sytem as well. The adverse effects are listed as ataxia, hypertonia, neuralgia, neuropathy, paresthesia, tremor, vertigo, depression, insomnia, somnolence, abnormal dreams, reflexes decreased, hypesthesia. The respitory system is affected by the use of this drug and might cause asthma, cough increased.

Serious cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and vascular events, including myocardial infarction, sudden cardiac death, ventricular arrhythmia, cerebrovascular hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack, hypertension, subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhages, and pulmonary hemorrhage have been reported post-marketing in temporal association with the use of VIAGRA. Most, but not all, of these patients had preexisting cardiovascular risk factors.
